Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary Da Nang City 1 Day Tour

08:00 – Hotel Pick-up

Your private driver and English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel lobby. Departure toward Son Tra Peninsula.

08:30 – Linh Ung Pagoda, Bai But (60–90 minutes)

Set at an elevation of 693 metres on Son Tra Peninsula, Linh Ung Pagoda is the largest Buddhist pagoda in Central Vietnam. Its centrepiece is a 67-metre Lady Buddha (Quan Am) statue – among the tallest standing Buddha figures in the country – gazing serenely out over the East Sea, a longstanding symbol of compassion watching over fishermen and travellers alike.

The pagoda grounds are shared with a troop of free-roaming macaque monkeys that inhabit the forested mountain slopes. It makes for a memorable visual – but keep your distance and do not feed them (more on this below).

A note on Vietnamese spirituality worth understanding: only around 15% of Vietnam’s population identifies as formally practising Buddhists. The majority follows what is called “Dao Luong” – literally the “Way of Conscience” – a traditional folk belief system rooted in moral values, community ethics, and ancestral reverence rather than structured religious doctrine. It is more accurately described as cultural folklore than organised religion. That said, roughly 70% of Vietnamese people hold genuine respect for Buddhist teachings: the pursuit of inner peace, the accumulation of merit through kind deeds, and the avoidance of harm. Temples like Linh Ung serve as communal spiritual anchors for this broad, inclusive way of living.

Important visitor tip: Do not feed the monkeys. The macaques on Son Tra are habituated to humans but can become aggressive when food is involved. A monkey bite requires immediate rabies vaccination treatment – which would derail your entire 1-day Da Nang itinerary and require a hospital visit. Admire them from a distance and keep bags securely closed.

10:15 – Drive Back to City Centre (approx. 25 minutes)

10:40 – Dragon Bridge & Han River Waterfront (45–60 minutes)

Dragon Bridge is the architectural emblem of modern Da Nang. Here are the key facts:

  • Total length: 666 metres
  • Width: 37.5 metres
  • Weight of the dragon structure: over 1,000 tonnes
  • LED lighting system: 10,000 lights
  • Fire and water show: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only – starting at 21:00

During the day, Dragon Bridge is an impressive stop for photos and context. The dragon’s head faces the sea – a deliberate design choice symbolising Da Nang’s outward ambition and its open welcome to visitors from across the world. The tail is sculpted in the shape of a lotus flower, Vietnam’s national flower, representing purity and resilience.

A short walk from Dragon Bridge brings you to Love Bridge (Cau Tinh Yeu), where couples attach engraved padlocks to the railings and toss the key into the Han River below – a ritual of commitment that has become one of the city’s most photographed moments. Just across the road, the striking ship-shaped DH Mariana Restaurant makes for an eye-catching backdrop, and the surrounding riverfront is lined with luxury yachts and wooden cruise boats ideal for photographs.

12:00 – Lunch (approx. 60 minutes)

Lunch at a local restaurant. [TO BE CONFIRMED – restaurant name and menu details]

13:30 – Han Market (90–120 minutes)

Han Market is Da Nang’s most iconic traditional market, sitting at the heart of the city beside the Han River. More than just a shopping stop, it offers a genuine window into local daily life.

Here you’ll find dried squid, rice paper, conical hats, Hoi An silk, ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dresses), handcrafted souvenirs, and an array of street snacks. Most visitors spend between 90 and 120 minutes here without realising how quickly the time passes. If you’d like to reach My Khe Beach before sunset, keep an eye on the clock.

15:30 – My Khe Beach (optional – approx. 60–90 minutes)

If time allows, the late afternoon is perfect for a visit to My Khe Beach – one of the beaches ranked by Forbes among the most beautiful in the world. Stretching more than 30 kilometres along the coastline, My Khe features fine white sand, calm turquoise water, and a gentle surf that’s suitable for swimming and beginner-level surfing.

The beach is lined along Vo Nguyen Giap Street with fresh seafood restaurants – an ideal setting for an early dinner if you’d rather stay by the sea than head back into the city. Watching the light soften over the water in the late afternoon, with the Marble Mountains visible in the distance to the south, is one of Da Nang’s quietly memorable experiences.

17:00 – Hotel Drop-off

Your driver returns you to your hotel, bringing the day’s itinerary to a close.
