Think of Love Bridge as the beginning of an evening walk

The easiest mistake is arriving with the expectation that Cau Tinh Yeu will occupy several hours.

It will not.

The bridge is small enough to walk slowly from end to end, stop for several photographs and examine the love locks without needing a complicated route.

That compact scale is actually useful.

Instead of scheduling Love Bridge as a major block of your day, use it as the first stop in a Han River evening.

For a normal visit, 30–60 minutes is enough. If you arrive on a weekend and continue to Dragon Bridge and the surrounding night area, the whole riverside experience can naturally expand to two or three hours.

Arrive before full darkness if photography matters

Late afternoon gives you more options than arriving after the sky has already turned completely black.

You can photograph the river and bridge structure while there is still natural light, then wait for the heart-shaped lights and city illumination to become stronger.

This produces two very different sets of photographs from one short visit.

If your main goal is portraits, start while some ambient light remains. Once the sky becomes completely dark, phone cameras have to work much harder with the bright lamps and darker faces.

Weekday evenings are generally better if your priority is simply photographs and a quieter river walk. Weekend evenings are better if you want to add the Dragon Bridge show.

Love locks are symbolic — you do not need to throw anything into the river

Attaching a lock is optional.

If you want to join the tradition, write or engrave names, a date or a short message and attach the lock to the railing where this is permitted.

The old CVT article repeatedly instructed visitors to throw the key into the Han River. This version removes that advice completely.

Treat the lock itself as the symbolic gesture.

Padlocks and engraving may be available from nearby vendors, but prices are commercial and change over time, so they should not be treated as fixed attraction fees.

Do not miss the Carp-Turning-Dragon statue

You do not need another taxi ride or another itinerary slot for this.

The Ca Chep Hoa Rong — Carp-Turning-Dragon statue stands in the same riverside cluster as Love Bridge.

That makes it an obvious second photo stop before you move toward Dragon Bridge.

The composition is also different. Love Bridge works well for close portraits and illuminated heart shapes, while the Carp-Turning-Dragon area gives you more space to include the river and skyline.

This is one reason the entire stop feels more substantial than the bridge’s physical size suggests.

On weekends, build the evening around the 21:00 Dragon Bridge show

This is the strongest reason to time Love Bridge carefully.

The regular Dragon Bridge fire and water show currently takes place at approximately 21:00 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with special schedules sometimes added for major holidays and city events.

A practical sequence is: Love Bridge → Carp-Turning-Dragon → choose your Dragon Bridge viewing position → 21:00 show.

You do not need to arrive at Love Bridge at 21:00. That would make the bridge itself rushed.

Arriving somewhere around 19:30–20:00 gives you enough time to walk, photograph the riverfront and find a better viewing position before the show.

The Love Bridge area is useful for Dragon Bridge views, but position matters

Love Bridge and the east-bank riverside give you a good view toward Dragon Bridge.

But do not assume there is one universally best spot.

A close position near the dragon head gives you a more intense view of the fire and water effects, but it can also mean heavier crowds and a greater chance of getting wet.

A position farther back gives you more of the bridge in one frame.

If photography is your priority, decide whether you want the dragon head and effects up close or the whole bridge and river in the composition. Those are different photographs and require different positions.

Son Tra Night Market can work as the final stop — but keep the operating details flexible

The old article’s basic idea was good: finish the evening with food rather than ending immediately after Dragon Bridge.

However, the old market hours became outdated as the Son Tra Night Market operation was reorganized.

The visitor journey still makes sense: Love Bridge → Dragon Bridge → nearby night-market area, but this Attraction page should not hard-code an old closing time as a permanent fact.

If the night market is important to your evening, check its current operating location and hours on the day.

Getting there is simple from central Da Nang

Love Bridge is on Tran Hung Dao Street in An Hai Ward, on the east side of the Han River.

Taxi, Grab and motorbike are all straightforward options.

If you are already around Dragon Bridge, the riverside cluster is best explored on foot rather than repeatedly using a vehicle between Love Bridge, Ca Chep Hoa Rong and Dragon Bridge.

Best Time to Visit

For a first visit, choose late afternoon into evening.

If you only want the bridge and photographs, a weekday evening is simpler because you avoid the largest Dragon Bridge crowds.

If you are visiting on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, the stronger plan is to arrive before 20:00 and remain in the riverfront area for the 21:00 fire and water show.

There is little reason to assign a strict seasonal window to this attraction. It is an urban evening stop rather than a weather-dependent mountain or beach attraction. Rain can make photography and riverside walking less comfortable, but the bridge remains useful throughout the year.

History & Design

The Love Bridge was introduced in 2015 as part of the DHC Marina riverside area.

Its idea is straightforward: adapt the love-lock tradition seen at romantic landmarks in other cities into a Da Nang setting beside the Han River. The design therefore does not try to compete with Dragon Bridge as a major piece of transport infrastructure. It functions as a pedestrian viewing platform and symbolic photo location.

The heart-shaped light posts are what give the bridge its strongest identity after dark.

Immediately beside it is the Carp-Turning-Dragon — Ca Chep Hoa Rong — statue, another riverside landmark. The important point for visitors is not the bridge’s engineering. It is how the bridge, statue, river and Dragon Bridge work together visually after sunset.

Visitor Tips

• Allow 30–60 minutes for Love Bridge itself. Do not reserve half a day.
• Go before full darkness for better portraits, then stay until the heart lights become prominent.
• Do not throw lock keys or other objects into the Han River.
• Arrive before 20:00 on weekend show nights if you want time for Love Bridge before finding a Dragon Bridge viewing position.
• Walk between Love Bridge, Ca Chep Hoa Rong and Dragon Bridge once you are in the riverfront area.
• Treat padlock, engraving and photographer prices as vendor services, not fixed attraction prices.
